- meet katie -

and a mom to three kids under the age of 5. I thrive with a cup (or 3) of coffee every morning in our cozy little house in beautiful Southern California.

I played volleyball in high school, went to the gym during the off season and thanks to being young and having a great metabolism could eat whatever I wanted without even thinking about it. Then came my first year of college, pints of ice cream during studying and that steady weight gain in spite of working out here and there. The freshman 15 was more like 25. A few years later when my best friend asked me to marry him, I finally got my act together and got back in shape before walking down the aisle. In the years since then, life hasn't slowed down for a minute. I graduated college, became a high school Spanish teacher, had 3 babies, moved 7 times thanks to my husband’s jobs, and have had to do many, many months of solo-parenting while he has been away for work. Through it all, taking care of myself by getting outside to run or hike or go to the gym, yoga studio or a spin or barre class (whatever our budget and location has allowed!) has continued to be a priority and has given me the freedom to live life fully and be a better wife, mom and woman.

Fitness, healthy living, and practical, healthy, real-life nutrition are my passions and I am so excited to have the chance to help other women find a little bit of their own passion for those things too. I became a NASM Certified Personal Trainer in March of 2015, and then continued my education to earn 5 NASM specializations: Women’s Fitness, Youth Fitness, Fitness Nutrition, Group Fitness Training, and Weight Loss. In 2016 I became Precision Nutrition 1 Certified and a Pre and Postnatal Fitness Specialist. I am on my way to becoming a Corrective Exercise Specialist with NASM too.
